COURSE DESCRIPTION

This introductory course is specifically designed to assist trust practitioners and financial services professionals in developing in-depth knowledge and understanding of trust law and administration for Bahamian trusts and trusts generally. The course is structured to provide participants with practical insight and analysis of trust concepts and case studies involving simple and complex issues in the administration of trusts.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able and are expected to:

  1. Demonstrate comprehensive, practical knowledge and understanding of trust law and administration.

  2. Apply trust law and concepts to practical issues in the administration of Bahamian trusts.

  3. Gain fundamental knowledge of Bahamian trust legislation and applicable case law.

  4. Critically assess, analyze, and address the legal and practical issues involved in trust administration.

  5. Effectively communicate their knowledge and understanding of trust law and administration and recommend solutions to complex trust issues.

Course Assessment
Participants in the course will be assessed by a three-hour examination. The passing mark for the examination is 70%. 

  • Duration: 11 Weeks

  • Days: Saturdays

  • Time: 9:30 p.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Learning Platform: Zoom

  • Fee: $1,600 (members) and $1, 800 (non-members) + Registration $50.00

The National Accreditation and Equivalency Council (NAECOB) is a statutory body established under the National Accreditation and Equivalency Council ACT of The Bahamas on the 4th of October, 2006; assented on 29th of December, 2006 and came into force 28th February, 2007.  NAECOB is responsible for registering and accrediting primary schools, secondary schools, post-secondary schools, and any institution that offers training in The Bahamas. The National Accreditation and Equivalency Council of The Bahamas began operation in 2016.
